Race day notes

  • Season rhythm: Wednesdays from November to March with a short Christmas and New Year break.
  • Start times: Registration opens 5:30pm, kids start at 5:45pm, senior waves from 6:15pm.
  • Venue: Aqua Energy (Lex Glover Regional Aquatics Complex), Sale.
  • Costs: Kids courses typically range from free to about $5 and the senior course from free to about $14 depending on RTC membership, AusTriathlon status and pool membership.
  • Parking: Entry is via the Guthridge Parade car park entrance, which makes setup and transition access easier for families.
  • Race briefing: New athletes should arrive early enough to hear the short race-night briefing and get shown where transition works.
  • Course feel: Kids start with a pool swim, then use the bike path parallel to Guthridge Parade before running in the park. The senior ride uses three loops of the Guthridge Parade, Stevens Street, Summerton Park Road and Montgomery Street circuit, then finishes with one run circuit through the parks including Stephenson Park.
  • Improvement format: Like the Bairnsdale series, Sale mini tris use PB-based improvement points rather than a straight season ladder on raw finish times.
